Million Minute Marathon

Happy Literacy Week!
Today the state of Florida went for a world record of reading for 1 million minutes. Each child enrolled in a Florida public school read for 20 minutes today. When you total the number of students reading at every public school in the state we read for over 1,000,000 minutes today!

My students were super psyched to be going for a world record. Even my students who say "I hate reading" happily participated. We flexed our reading muscle today with a little pre-vocabulary stretch and a quick post read bookmark decorating cool down.

It's days like this I love being a teacher.
