A detour to Philly

We planned to spend the second half our roadtrip in New Jersey visiting both my Mom and Mr. R.'s parents. However, we needed to make an early morning detour to the city of brotherly love first. Our first stop was Reading Terminal Market for an amazing breakfast. On numerous recommendations we decided to try The Dutch Eating Place and it was so so so good. The blueberry pancakes are amazing.
Our next stop was The Please Touch Museum. It is Philadelphia's children's museum and one my favorite places as a kid. It has three floors of amazing interactive pretend play. We fell down the rabbit hole into Wonderland and had tea with Alice and the Mad Hatter, we visited a mini sized downtown Philly, walked up the torch of the statue of liberty (mini sized of course), and then there was dress-up play. Pip was a doctor, Septa bus driver, Nascar pit crew member, grocery shopper, videographer, and train conductor.
She loved it. We loved it. And we could have easily spent two to three days just visiting the different exhibits. Mr. R. has affectionately renamed Please Touch to the Piper touch EVERYTHING museum. For almost three hours she ran, not walked, ran from exhibit to exhibit. Needless to say we all took a LONG nap on Thursday afternoon.
