May the FOURTH be with you!

Sorry sorry sorry!
I forgot to wish you a...
Happy Star Wars Day (on May 4th).
Perhaps next year I will be more on my game and better prepared.
And maybe our munchkin will be sporting a hat like this one!
Happy Friday!

Every once in a while I get really creative with my lessons.

And every once in a while it totally pays off.
Today my students, who are still trying to master genetics and heredity, used DNA profiles to design their own dog.
Look out labradoodle and yorkie-poo. We have a few new species ready to take over the designer dog trend
In other news, I am still with child.
38 week update coming soon.
And thank goodness tomorrow is Friday.  This week hasn't exactly been tough, but I am exhausted.

A few things I know to be true...

Jenna posted 25 things that she knows to be true and I loved each and every one of them. I decided to jump on the bandwagon and make my own list.

Fajitas, Netflix, and Laundry

Tonight Mr. R. and I both were commitment free.
We made fajitas for dinner with black beans and spanish rice.
And we ate in front of the TV while watching Killers with Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher.
It was easy, perfect, and almost vegetative.
I know we could have been more productive.
I know we should have been more productive, but sometimes life demands you act like a couch potato. And who am I to disagree with life?

Easter Egg Lab!

Sure we are two weeks past Easter, but I can still break out the eggs.
Today my students practiced punnett squares with the help of the pastel plastic variety.
I still cannot get over how much this group of 7th graders LOVES lab days.
They are constantly amazed at the number of labs we do and they are ecstatic each time they see my black lab cart brimming with supplies.
They continue to say thank you after each lab and frankly that is why this very tired and very pregnant lady keeps doing them. I am a sucker for a sweet thank you or a "your the best teacher ever" comment. Yup, I fall for flattery every time.

Tonight the plan is to just TAKE IT EASY. I have been having Braxton-hicks contractions on and off since last night and I hope they either go away or they start the real deal labor process.

This waiting stuff is hard.

I promised myself that I would not be one of the those bloggers who falls off the face of the earth due to lack of blogging material, laziness or tiredness. And yet I have been having the hardest time posting. Mostly because I have TOBP disease. I am seriously Tired Of Being Pregnant.

Sure, I don't have any serious pregnancy symptoms. I am still working. My feet and ankles are of normal size and I am not contracting on an hourly, minute, or second basis. That being said, I am still ready to be back to normal or at least learning about our new "normal with a baby" normal.

This waiting stuff is hard.

Today I spent my day teaching. Then we walked the dogs, ran errands, made dinner, and picked up the car. Hooray! Our beloved VW is back in working order. My bank account did take a pretty major hit though.

I leave you with a photo of our dinner. It was made in 15 minutes flat.
I think the weirdest part of being pregnant is my inability to feel hungry until its too late and all of a sudden I am dying of hunger.  It's like I go from full to empty is two seconds flat and dinner cannot be ready fast enough.

Thank goodness for Costco salmon and the George Forman grill.

How to make your Monday night awesome.

 Cinnamon Bun Pancakes.

Last night, post doctor's appointment and non-stress test, Mr. R. asked what I wanted for dinner.
On a whim, I said I could go for pancakes.
We went to IHOP.
Are you as surprised as I am?
I have no idea what came over me, but I agreed to eat at the International House of Pancakes
(....and lard, grease, cream ....and bacon).
And I LOVED it.
I ordered the cinnamon bun pancakes and as the name suggests it's pancakes topped with cinnamon bun filling, whipped cream, and swirls of icing. Did I just give you a cavity?

And Mr. R. has his standard pancakes and bacon.

I can't promise we will be back.
But I can say pancakes for dinner totally rocked this girl's Monday night.

P.S. My 38 week check-up went well and Pippa is head down and ready to come out.
