Happy Independence Day!

From our little firecracker!

I love the 4th. The red, white, and blue decorations, the smell of charcoal BBQ, the fireworks in downtown St. Augustine, sparklers in our backyard, grilled hotdogs with mustard (no ketchup!), celebrating our independance with family and friends.

We invited my grandparents and psuedo grandparents (Hi Faye & Cal!) over for a BBQ lunch today. We promised nothing fancy and prayed Piper would nap so we could get the food prepped and the table set.

The Menu:

John McCain's Ribs (cooked first in the crockpot then grilled) with the Neely's BBQ sauce

Hamburger & Hotdogs

Roasted Potato Salad

Sandra Lee's Baked Beans

AND

Paula Deen's Slow Cooker Cobbler with whipped cream

We aren't going downtown to see the fireworks this year. Piper has a 7:00 PM bedtime and we are not messing with the schedule. So instead Mr. R. and I are opting for Macy's Fireworks Special on NBC and leftover ribs & cobbler.
