What's black, white, and LOVED all over?

Miss Piper Jayne!
We had a few visitors stop by yesterday
and one of them, my talented friend Danielle, brought her camera.
She got the most beautiful black and whites of Piper and we could not be more excited.

A few more photos of THE PIP

We are still in the hospital and things are looking good. She is maintaining her weight and taking in any available attention from an nurses and staff that happen to go by. Her hair seems to be the main attraction. She does have some serious rockstar hair going on.
And for the most part Mr. R. and I are soaking it all in. Pip is a beauty, she is eating well, and loves her sleep. Did I tell you I have been praying for a baby who would sleep?
We should be discharged and ready to head home later today or early tomorrow.

And, If you are wondering how our other babies are? You do remember the fur children right? They have been under the care of puppy sitter extraordinaire. Seriously, Jodi is the Mary Poppins of the dog world.
I hear they don't miss me at all.

Piper Jayne is HERE!

And we are in love!
She arrived at 5:15 Thursday night.
And is the smallest peanut of a baby weighing in at 5 pounds and 7 ounces.
18 inches long.
We are learning, making it, and managing.
And as always, we will keep you posted.

10 Things that make Mr. R. terribly happy.

I asked Mr. R. to do a 10 things list as well. After much procrastinating and groaning... he hates deadlines. Here are his 10. And yes, bacon really does get top billing!

1. Bacon (is there any explanation really needed for this?)
2. Puppy kisses
3. New episodes of Parks & Recreation. (It is the best and only show about local government ever). FYI: Mr. R.'s second job out of college was in a Congressman's office on Capitol Hill.
4. Red Velvet Cake
5. Not having to watch Murder She Wrote. (Will this day ever come?)
6. When the Dallas Cowboys WIN!
7. When any team from Philadelphia or Boston loses.
8. Election season
9. WMMR radio in Philadelphia with Pierre Robert.
10. Baby Piper

A neutron walks into a bar and asks how much for a drink. The bartender replies "for you, no charge"

Tonight I made a meal fit for the 1960s. Comfort meatballs in slider form and a side of macaroni and cheese. Carbs, carbs, and red meat. The rest of my night plans to be super exciting... Big Bang Theory reruns, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, and making room in our fridge/freezer for the meals we made tonight.
P.S. Pioneer Woman's meatballs rock my socks. This copycat Panera macaroni and cheese is artery clogging and delicious. You can totally reduce the butter, sub in skim milk, fat free half and half, and low fat cheese. I won't tell. (And it tastes almost as good as the real deal).

And lastly, the opening quote makes my
Biochemists heart smile. It's from the one and only Sheldon Cooper and even though he calls me an Oompa Loompa of Science, (as a former engineer), I still love him.

10 things I love on the 10th

1. GAIN joyful expressions laundry detergent. I love the sweet fruity smell.
2. Clean sheets. I always wash our sheets after we bathe the dogs. That way the sheets smell fresh longer and the pup's bubble bath smell mingles with the sent of our laundry detergent and dryer sheets.
3. Chipotle's Steak Bowl with guacamole. I had one two weekends ago and I am dying for another.
4. Early morning hugs from my husband. I love that we cuddle for a few minutes right after the alarm goes off. Some days that hugs is the best part of my whole day.
5. Murder She Wrote. Much to Mr. R's dismay I am working my way through the series. I am on season 7 right now.
6. Naps on the chaise with warm puppies.
7. Mac & Manco Pizza. I am sad I won't be eating any this summer, but extremely grateful that I had two slices when we visited the boardwalk this November.
8. Praise Reports and celebrations. It's so easy to get bogged down by what is going wrong. Taking time to talk about the good things and answers to prayer make me realize just how blessed we all are.
9. Date nights.
10. Pink toenail polish. It's just so unabashedly girlie.
